The new generation SnapMax!

SnapMax is a snare-mounted percussion block designed to expand your sound palette without adding extra hardware around your kit. It can be played as a standalone percussion block for accents and groove textures, or used together with your snare’s natural side stick to enhance and shape your cross stick sound, making it beefier and helping it cut through the mix. Mounted directly to the drum, SnapMax keeps everything within easy reach while maintaining a clean and compact setup.

We now offer a thinner mounting bracket option designed for improved compatibility with many die-cast hoops.

The Studio Series

We went sound first - no compromises! We also improved the mounting system and made it more accessible to all drummers by offering a striped down version at a lower price.

We now have two different pitches in sound: The original and a lower more soulful tone. These can be combined to give you an unparalleled percussion block experiment or together with your drums natural side stick, you can now have three distinct cross stick sounds from one drum.

Each SnapMax is 3D printed and hand-assembled in Finland in small runs for top-tier precision and feel.

💡 Good to know

SnapMax is designed to fit most standard snares right out of the box.
 • If your tension rods are unusually short, you might prefer slightly longer ones — our measuring guide makes it easy to check.
 • We prioritized sound, and the polymer we use is strong but it is not heat-resistant, so just like any instrument accessory, keep it out of direct sunlight or a closed car on hot days.
 • Need help or want fit details before ordering? Check our FAQ for quick answers or send us a message!

Please note: drum hardware dimensions and hoop designs vary between manufacturers and models. Standard triple-flanged hoops are compatible in the vast majority of setups. Very chunky die-cast hoops may reduce clearance in some cases, though thinner die-cast-compatible bracket options are available. While most setups work without issues, perfect fit and clearance cannot be universally guaranteed with every drum and hoop combination.

Disclaimer

SnapMax is designed to mount securely and safely on standard snare hardware. However, all drums are built a little differently, and mounting any accessory on tension rods can, in rare cases, leave small marks or cause wear over time. GorillaSound cannot be held responsible for any damage, marking, or thread wear that may occur on your drum, hoop, or hardware during installation or use — whether due to fit, tension rod length, or material differences.

Before installing, please make sure your tension rods are long enough for the brackets — as mentioned earlier, it’s important to check rod length in advance to ensure a stable and safe mount.

Prolonged exposure to heat or direct sunlight may soften the polymer and affect its shape or finish, so store your SnapMax in a cool, dry place when not in use. Normal stick marks or surface wear are part of the instrument’s life and do not affect performance. Please follow the installation guide carefully, check your rod lengths, and avoid over-tightening.
